Lately, I’ve been easily filled with worry, stress, & anxiety when it comes to my daughter. A few weeks back, we had to take her into the ER at 1:30am due to trouble breathing. The doctor cleared her nose out with all the mucus getting caught in her throat and causing the trouble breathing and we thought that was the main issue. And even though that did help her breathing, she was diagnosed with RSV, but they let us leave, so it seemed like a fairly mild case. But ever since then, she’s been throwing up multiple ounces of her milk after some feedings. At the time you’ll be reading this, she’ll be 3 months old, but at her 2 month appointment, her pediatrician wasn’t concerned with the throwing up because it wasn’t super often and it was just milk not bile. But ever since the sickness for Lany, it’s been happening more often. And when it does happen, it’s scary! My son was a baby that spit up all the time but it never came out like he was throwing up like it does with our sweet girl.

I have such deep empathy for my daughter that I’ve been worrying a lot about her, having a hard time sleeping due to feeling anxious. Breastfeeding has become something that causes me anxiety because that’s when it happens most of the time. And it results in her and I both soaked in milk.

But the other day, my parents anointed her with oil & prayed healing over her. My mom said to me, “Walk in her healing. Even if you can’t see it yet, she’s healed.”

Ever since then, I’ve been choosing peace over worry the best I can. Here are some scriptures that encourage me & can hopefully encourage you as well.

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

In Matthew 6:24-35, God reminds us that worrying doesn’t add a single hour to your life. He reminds us that He loves and cares for us so much that everything will be okay.

I cling onto these verses today. What things in your life can you completely give to God and stop holding onto and trying to control through worrying?
