This topic may vary from person to person, but I am going to share with you the baby products that I had and didn’t use or confirmed I did not need after having my own baby. Let’s try to save you some money 😉

Boppy Nursing Pillow

I didn’t love using this for a nursing pillow. I preferred a normal couch pillow. It didn’t fully go around me in a way that was super cozy and it was almost too wide for my liking. You can also use it for your babies to sit up when they’re learning to help them and use as a cushion if they fall, but any blanket or pillow could do the same thing. So, I personally do not think the Boppy Pillow is worth the money.

Wipe Warmer

I did not buy this for my babies because I thought it was pointless & I still feel that way. Lol sorry if you disagree, but in my opinion, kids won’t always have cold things warmed up for them for their entire life. Wipes are cold, but my kids literally never wince at it. They get used to it and don’t need their wipes warmed up. Plain and simple fact.

A Changing Table

Furniture is expensive. Cribs and dressers are necessary for a kid, but an entire piece of furniture for changing them is not. I put a changing mat on the top of our dresser and that works perfectly! You don’t need a changing table.

Apnea Monitor

Apnea monitors track the baby’s oxygen and heart rate. A lot of parents buy these for their baby. If your baby does have a concern from their pediatrician/doctor, then this is necessary. But, a baby who is completely healthy does not give you a reason to need to track their levels while they sleep. Don’t give yourself the extra anxiety! Your baby is healthy, safe, and you can relax. 🙂

Baby Shoes & Socks

Now, I did have both of these. I bought all baby shoes used and socks cheap from Amazon. But, I’ve realized, babies just don’t need shoes until they’re walking (except booties in the Winter) and they don’t keep socks on anyways. If their feet are cold, put them in pants with the feet attached or footy pjs. My baby is 10 months old and no matter how long her socks are, she still manages to pull them off to chew on them.

What products do you agree are not necessary for babies?

First, your sleeping baby is adorable! ^_^ And yeah, I agree with most of these. I definitely used regular pillows even though I had a Boppy with my first. And wipes warmers seem like an unnecessary expense. I did, however, love our changing table. I liked filling baskets with diapers, onesies, ect while I used a dresser for baby’s clothes. Of course, the changing table was handed down to me, so the free-ness helped, lol.

Such a cute photo! Also, I only used my boppy for a week or two.
