Recently, my husband and I travelled to Alaska. I was in one of my good friend’s weddings as a bridesmaid. I had a wonderful time celebrating my friend with a bachelorette party, bridal shower, & on the wedding day.

Once the wedding day was over, my husband and I took the next two days to explore and rest together. It was a nice time just the two of us in such a beautiful place! It’s hard to believe it’s still one of the fifty states. I love the mountains so much & so wish I lived closer to them.

I want to share some of my favorite things we did. There are a lot of expensive things to do that would be so amazing, but we tried to do things that were cheap or free since it was already so expensive to travel there.

We went to the shore of Lazy Mountain. We did some walking around it as well as got right up by the river and enjoyed the pretty views. We saw a man with a husky, reminding us of our sweet Maple back home, and the husky was running all around the water and mountains. It was a super pretty spot.

One morning while I was busy doing wedding/bridal party things, my husband went fly fishing! He knows someone who was able to tell him the best places to try out. He didn’t catch anything but had a wonderful time! You can buy a one day license which is perfect for travels!

such a cutie fisherman

On one of our free days from wedding stuff, we did a day trip to Seward. This was by far my favorite place to be in Alaska. They have a lot of cute shops, yummy food (we ate some tasty cod!!), and the harbor is fun to walk on/by. Unfortunately, it was raining the whole time, but it was still very cute.

Our hotel (and all the wedding festivities) were in Palmer, Alaska. So, we spent some time walking downtown to the cute shops and getting ice cream. There isn’t much better than eating ice cream in the summer surrounded by mountains.

One evening we went and saw a movie together! My husband and I have not been to a theater since before we had kids, so this was a fun thing to do together. We saw, ‘The Little Mermaid.’ This was my choice not my husband’s LOL. The following morning was rainy so my husband saw a more manly movie on his own while I spent some time at Starbucks editing my latest YouTube video. 🙂

gotta love a good movie theater date night 🙂

As mentioned above, we spent a day in Seward. We did such a fun hike up to see Exit Glacier. We stopped many times to take in the stunning views of the mountains around us. I think this was the highlight of the trip for both my husband and I. It’s a completely free spot to park at and hike. It rained on us the entire time, so by the end we were pretty soaked. But, it made it all the more memorable.

we were so close to this glacier that has melted so much over the past decades

The main reason we were in Alaska was for the wedding, so here are some pics from bachelorette party, bridal shower, & the wedding day.

I 10/10 recommend visiting Alaska if you have the chance someday.

Glad to be reunited with my babies now. 🙂
