I recently posted a video on my YouTube channel showing all the preparations I did for my daughter’s first birthday party, so if you’re interested in lots of details and coming along with me throughout the whole process, you can watch here!

But, I want to take you through as much of the process as I can here, sharing as many links as I’m able.

So, let’s start with the invite. I made this months in advance because I was just too excited. The invite is fully editable and then you print it wherever you’d like. This confirmed the theme since one year old’s don’t have a ton of interests yet. So, at this moment, I decided it would be a summery/flowery themed party.

My daughter’s outfit was the next thing I got for the party. It was a daisy bubble romper from atnoonstore. Sadly, it is out of stock right now, but I linked the shop because it’s super cute! I was not planning on buying a new outfit, but it was on super sale when I purchased it and it perfectly matched the theme! Here’s a pic of her wearing the romper while having a bow from one of her gifts on her head lol.

Next, I made my daughter’s birthday wish list. For younger kids, it’s so nice to make a gift list where people can see what you need/want for your child. I use the website Giftster.com and I’d highly recommend it.

Next, I went over to Amazon and ordered a few things I would use to decorate with. But, my main decoration was going to be real flowers I would buy the day before the party. Here are the things I purchased:

Bowls and spoons for ice cream bar

‘1’ balloon

Flower balloons

Flower plates

First Year Banner

‘1’ hat

Then, I picked one photo for each month of my daughter’s life so far, got them printed, and added them to the wall banner (the week of) to showcase one photo of each month of her life so far.

Since the party was at 2pm, we decided we would have an ice cream bar, juices, and fruit as the food. It ended up being a hit, and the bowls/spoons I ordered were so cute!

Other things I did to prep were to make a to-do list the week of of everything we, as a family, had to do before the party. And because I’m Type-A, I categorized it by who needed to do each thing. This was a helpful way to have everything written down that needed to get done and we could visibly see how much there was left to do. Within this, I also made a grocery list of everything needed for the drinks, food, flowers, ice cream bar, etc.

The day before the party is when I purchased everything needed.

On the morning of the party, my husband took both the kids out of the house so I could do everything needed. I made my daughter a healthy smash cake. I didn’t get a picture of it, but it wasn’t super cute so that’s okay lol. I also made homemade brownies to add to the ice cream bar. They were soooo good. To see more pictures of everything, you’ll need to watch my YouTube video to see how things turned out.

Here are a couple pictures from the prep/day, but I was in the moment and didn’t get a ton of pictures:

10/10 recommend a flower birthday.
