I almost have a three year old!! What?! Time flies once you have kids, truly.

As I’m preparing for his birthday party next weekend, I thought it could be helpful to share some of the items I’ve asked for him for his birthday. My husband and I try to take the more minimal approach when it comes to kids. We don’t live in a huge house, so we truly don’t want excess items. I’d rather have less toys but have them be more open-ended, good quality, Montessori type-toys. I know this approach is not for everyone (and we are not perfect with it by any means), but for those who can relate, stick around! We thrift the majority of his toys, so it is fun when a birthday comes around and he gets a few brand new things.

PIKLER TRIANGLE

I’ve wanted one of these for a while & I think we’ll still wait to purchase until we have more space. But, during the long winters, this would be amazing for toddlers! It’s basically a climbing structure for kids that has a rock wall and slide too!

FAMILY ZOO MEMBERSHIP

Since my son is turning three, I’ve realized a lot of activities make you start paying for a kid once they turn 3 years old. So, I thought a zoo membership would be so fun for our family! We went a couple times last year & the zoo close to us is a really nice one!

STRIDER BIKE & HELMET

These bikes are awesome! Our goal is to give our son a bike that transitions him into a big kid bike without having to have training wheels. This is just the bike to do so.

INFLATABLE PUNCHING BAG W/GLOVES

My husband has a punching bag and let’s Hudson use his old gloves. Hudson is obsessed! It’s a great physical activity for a young boy with a lot of energy.

DINOSAUR ANIMALS

His party is dinosaur themed. You can never have too many animals for kids to play with. There are endless ways to play with animals.

STEP STOOL

As my son grows older, a step stool is a great way for him to be able to reach his toothbrush and the sink all on his own.

VARIOUS MAGNA-TILE SETS

We love Magna-Tiles! They’re a really cool open-ended toy for kids (& their parents) to build some really awesome things!

BRIO TRAIN ACCESSORIES

A few months ago, I thrifted some really nice wooden tracks and trains. My son loves them! Thought we could use some more trains and accessories for the tracks!

NEW BALANCE SHOES

My son has very large and wide feet that grow super quickly! He can always use a new pair of shoes.

SENSORY BIN FILLER

Hudson uses his sensory bin basically every day. Another filler is a great idea to diversify his sensory bins!

I love birthdays! And I also enjoy finding toys for my kids that help them learn and explore, as well as have so much fun!

Tia Marie 🙂
